How To Honor and Display It
Dial-up Internet Access Set-up for Windows 2000
Click on Start, go to Programs, go to Accessories, go to Communications, go to Internet Connection Wizard. 

On the 'Welcome' screen, select 'I want to set up my Internet connection manually' and click on 'Next'. 

Select 'I connect through a phone line and a modem' and click on 'Next'. 

Click on the 'Advanced' button, and then on the 'Addresses' tab. 

Under 'IP address' make sure that 'Internet service provider automatically provides one' is selected. 

Under 'DNS server address' select 'Always use the following:' 

Network Qwest (qw):

  • Primary DNS: 4.2.2.1
  • Secondary DNS: 4.2.2.2
Network Telia (te):
  • Primary DNS: 205.199.193.2
  • Secondary DNS: 205.137.48.7
Network Starnet (st):
  • Primary DNS: 216.126.128.40
  • Secondary DNS: 216.126.136.250

Click on 'OK'. Enter the access number that was assigned to your account.  Make sure that 'Use area code and dialing rules' is not selected. 

If you are in an area that uses 10 digit local dialing, leave the area code field blank and put all 10 digits in the phone number field. 

Click on 'Next'. 

Enter your Dial Up Store log-on name in lower case letters as it was assigned to your account.  Enter your password exactly, in lower case letters, as it was assigned to your account. Click on 'Next'. 

Enter "The Dial Up Store' for a connection name, and click on 'Next'. 

You will then be asked if you want to continue setting up an Internet Mail account. If you have no preference in web browsers, we recommend that you select 'Yes', and click on 'Next' to continue.

Click on 'Create a new Internet mail account', then click 'Next'.

Type your name in the 'Display name:' field, then click on 'Next'.

Enter your full e-mail address (username@thedialupstore.com) in the 'E-mail address:' field, then click 'Next'.

Make sure 'POP3' is selected under 'My incoming mail server is.
Type mail.thedialupstore.com in the 'Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server' field.

Type smtp.safepages.com in the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server' field, then click 'Next'.

Enter your e-mail username without the @dialupstore.com in the 'Account name' field, and then enter your password into the 'Password' field. Type all in lower case letters! You may select 'Remember Password so you will not be prompted for the password each time you check your mail. Click on 'Next'.

Click 'Finish' on the 'Congratulations' screen.

Click 'Send and Receive' to check your Dial Up Store e-mail account. 

Continue setup of the MS Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.

Perform the following steps only if you do *not* wish to use MS Internet Explorer as your web browser

If you do not wish to use the MS Internet Explorer as your web browser and email program, select 'No' and click on 'Next'. 

Make sure to select the box for 'To connect to the Internet immediately...' and click on 'Finish'. 

Make sure that your Dial Up Store username is listed correctly. Enter your password, and make sure you remove anything that appears in that field before typing your own password. 
Click on 'Connect'. 

Note: You may select the 'Save Password' field, which may allow you to connect to The Dial Up Store in the future without having to re-enter your password.
