One of the first things you'll see after installing OS8 is
the Internet Setup Assistant. (You can also find it in the
'Assistants' folder on your hard drive. Please refer to your
user manual if you have deleted this software from your
computer, or, you can use a 3rd party dialer such as FreePPP.)

1. Double-click the Internet Setup Assistant.

2. Click the Update button.

3. Click the right arrow here.

4. Select "Add Internet configuration" and click
the right arrow.

5. Type in a name for the configuration, then select Modem
and click the right arrow.

6. Select your modem, the port you want to connect to. Then
select 'Tone' and click the right arrow.

7. Enter the phone number that was assigned to your acount,
then type your username, and your password. Then click the
right arrow.

8. Select 'No' here if you do NOT have a static IP account
and click the right arrow.

9. Enter:
Network Qwest (qw):
- Primary DNS: 4.2.2.1
- Secondary DNS: 4.2.2.2
Network Telia (te):
- Primary DNS: 205.199.193.2
- Secondary DNS: 205.137.48.7
Network UUnet (uu)
- Primary DNS: 198.6.1.218
- Secondary DNS: 198.6.100.218
Network Starnet (st):
- Primary DNS: 216.126.128.40
- Secondary DNS: 216.126.136.250
then type The Dial Up Store in the bottom box. Click
the right arrow.

11. Now type your full Dial Up Store log-on name. Then type
smtp.nationroute.net and click the right arrow. Again, make
sure there are no spaces. (This information
only applies to those that are using email services from The
Dial Up Store) Otherwise, enter your email
service username and smtp information.

12. Now type news.dialupstore.com and click the right
arrow. Click here for the server settings if you do
not have a Dial Up Store email address.

13. Click Go Ahead here when you are ready. If you have
selected the option above, you will connect to the Internet
now!
